Mar 15, 2010 - I CALLED IT! this is so messed up... Now people can see that this is all a scam set up by a collected number of individuals who wants money! The Gov't is loving this crap by blowing it out of the water and now people are questioning the validity of everything on Toyota.. Toyota doesn't deserve this... America just made itself look like a bunch of dumb asses again and now the world is laughing..

adangme Says:

MrDeppness Says:

Mar 15, 2010 - 94 MPH is insanely fast to be driving and on the phone at the same time. I wonder how it all ended exactly.

HardyCox Says:

Mar 15, 2010 - I hope they load up his prius and drop it off in his yard with the keys locked in it.

geir44 Says:

Mar 15, 2010 - Toyota is good. GM is bad, very bad. This is all a scam and a hoax

STARSHINE852 Says:

Mar 15, 2010 - Wait though, didn't the cop behind say he saw the brakes lights go on and still the car wouldnt slow down? Plus they said the brakes were worn down. I believe it happened

Gigafuzz Says:

Mar 16, 2010 - I'm amazed how easily a news report can morph people's views. There is absolutely no evidence that it was a hoax, like the reporter said in the video at the end. If Toyota is putting people in jeopardy(which they are), they do not deserve to be a company. Of course the news report would NEVER tell you the other side of the story. They would never say that he tried to bring it back but was denied the ability to, along with 40 other identical cases.

lobextomy Says:

Mar 16, 2010 - nope no brake lights, so suck it

bibinthomas1985 Says:

Mar 16, 2010 - just nother way to get out of a speeding ticket i think he needs to pay for the non emergency 911 call and using up their time (scum bag) a free car im sorry (kiss my ass)

gavsmith1980 Says:

Mar 16, 2010 - no evidence?really?-no one has had problems with '08 prius accelerators-he tried to return his car to his dealer previously-he wouldnt put it in neutral as advised to on the phone. if he can dial 911, he can change gear-the management system shows he kept alternating between pushing the accelerator & the brake to wear down the brakes, this is because the engine starts to shut down if both pedals are pressed simultaneously, & this system was functional.he never pushed the brakes properly.

gavsmith1980 Says:

Mar 16, 2010 - starshinethat proves what?your brake lights should come on long before your brakes have any effect, and it seems apparent he was trying to wear them down; the car wouldn't let him press both pedals at once or it would have cut out as it is designed to.his accelerator must have been fine, he's just been caught out like the "kid in a balloon" guy, he's filing for bankruptcy, tried to return his car to toyota previously to get the best money for it, then pulled this stunt for publicity.

MegaBustaman Says:

Mar 16, 2010 - Toyota couldn't replicate the driveaway recalled vehicles either. The government investigating Toyota don't even believe Toyota that it was sticking pedals either-they think it's the computer in the toyotas-toyota don't have credibility either. I'm not driving any Toyota's until they get their asses together.

hakemon Says:

Mar 16, 2010 - You can just lightly touch the brakes and get the light to come on. Besides, only the fronts were worn down, the rears were fine. When brakes are lightly applied, fronts are applied first, then with harder pressure, the rears kick in..Does seem made up to me, especially with the new reports.

JELH Says:

Mar 16, 2010 - The guy's a fraud. Lock him up! And you damn well know this Toyota unintended acceleration is nothing a big fat hoax.

superamerica1981 Says:

Mar 16, 2010 - @STARSHINE852 LOL Yes, one of the cops in my city swears he saw Santa Claus last year landing at the city park with all his reindeer (including Rudolf). I believe it happened, especially given cops are usually so smart, talented, and they hate donuts.

STARSHINE852 Says:

Mar 16, 2010 - Now I will laugh at that one..LMAO

junkie4vids Says:

Mar 19, 2010 - Sikes is a fraud. He is tricky. Keep an eye on Sikes.

carquestions Says:

Mar 20, 2010 - Try this one on for size - He was going to commit suicide to pay off his debts but backed out when the cop showed up. He didn't bring anyone with him, he has a mountain of debt, he gets his details on how to do it from the Saylor Lexus news, doesn't count on a quick response from the cops and now he has a very credible witness following along side him, something he didn't anticipate or couldn't learn from the news. It would explain the long drive - he just keeps pumping the brakes for 20 min

princepeco Says:

Mar 21, 2010 - People are bias to certain points. Why can't people stand as a outsider to look into the situation. Put it this way, if they can't get into the driver's mind to pull something out, you can't claim hoax base on your own judgment. Prius is a drive-by-wire vehicle, it has an on-board computer coded twice as much as MS windows Vista. Could it be software issue? statistically yes, but unlikely as the chance are remote. That is exactly why they can't prove him a scammer.

HorseCrazieGirl15 Says:

Mar 22, 2010 - ok... is Toyata stupid??? all their paying attention to are the brakes NOT the gas pedal! He said his gas pedal was sticking.... so why not pay attention to that to?

MacPowerBook Says:

Mar 22, 2010 - No, but you are. The problem is, people can't drive. When that happens, and they make a dipshit mistake, they blame it on everybody else. He can't corroborate his story and has a shady background. The brake shuts the engine down when pressed in conjunction with the gas. There was proof that the brake wasn't pressed hard enough. Toyota is already adding the gas pedal shim to alleviate friction. Do yourself and everybody else on the road a favor, stay off and ride your "Horsie".
